Health care ethics (also known as bioethics) is an interdisciplinary field; however philosophical analysis plays a central role. The purpose of this course is to introduce you to a variety of ethical issues related to health care and to different philosophical arguments related to these issues. Readings will be made available via D2L. Topics include end-of-life decision-making and organ donation, resource allocation, consent, the physician-patient relationship, ethical issues in reproduction, and research ethics.
