Nicholas Saarela earned a B.A. each in Philosophy, History, and English: Language and Literature from Grand Valley State University in 2008, and an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan in 2010. His interests are in Neuroethics, specifically: the relationship between emerging medical technologies and the therapy/enhancement distinction; the diagnosis and treatment of psychological and cognitive disorders; the autonomy and rationality of such afflicted individuals; Wittgenstein's concept of private language; and, the determination of, right to, and funding for psychiatric treatment.
